Mt. Baker, WA is one of the most incredible places I have been fortunate enough to ski and spend endless hours exploring. I constantly find myself reveling in it's innate beauty, deep snow, and pristine terrain. This winter has started off slow with little precipitation and a very thin snow pack. I am certainly ready for a deep pow day and while this was not entirely possible, with a few adventurous souls and a little exploration, the day gave way to some of the best ankle deep pow turns of epic proportions. Swift Creek was all us ladies desired and more! Skinless we realized we would be boot packing out, but it was certainly worth a little hard work and sweat.
As we flew through the rope disappearing into the trees one after the other laughing and hollering, Kirsten, Taryn, and I took those turns for everything they were worth.
It was short and we found ourselves at the bottom far too quickly, but we were stoked! The hike out was burly and literally an uphill battle, but felt so good! There's nothing like setting a fresh boot pack, it certainly got those ski muscles back into beast condition or at least well on their way. I look forward to many more days and backcountry trips with these ladies. Their passion for the mountains, riding, and life in general is contagious, and is what brought us together in the first place; I am truly thankful for that! #shegoes
